I'm not saying hoststated is bad or anything. It looks good and will probably serve a people successfully, especially when combined with CARP.

However...
This guy obviously doesn't know the first thing about load balancers, what the problems are, the different architectural solutions, and what other products do. He should not speak with authority on what other solutions do.

It's a nice hack though, but aside from CARP I could set up the same thing with a script on Linux in 15 minutes easy.

This is not the only "solution" from the obsd camp that completely ignores what people have been doing for 5-15 years. The W^X and address randomization being far from state of the art is another.
