Sun should've returned to their BSD roots, made the OS available free and focused solely on hardware. Hardware was their strength and leave the OS for the BSD communities to develop.
It would be nice to see a major hardware vendor of significance take the approach to market their hardware with BSD is their default OS. Either FreeBSD for file, database servers and OpenBSD for firewall or entry level to mid level switch.
